What makes a hotel suck?

What is the perfect hotel?  Cheap? Lux? Family oriented? I travel for work — I travel a lot.  I’m platinum with Starwood (Sheraton) Hotels, Gold with Hilton.  Hell, I’m even Gold with La Quinta.
